Do you pierce cartilage or other parts of the body? 

No, I specialize exclusively in earlobe piercings and do not offer services for cartilage, other body, or facial piercings.

 

Do you provide a second and third piercing on the lobe?

Yes, I provide second- and third-earlobe piercings. 

 

How do you pierce?

I do not pierce with a gun or needle. Instead, I use the earring of choice to pierce the lobes. Please view the video I provided at the bottom of the page, which demonstrates how I pierce.

 

Preparation Tips for Older Children:

Before scheduling your daughter's appointment, please ensure that you, the parent, will follow the daily cleaning process during the healing process.

Consistent aftercare is crucial for promoting proper healing and preventing infection.

Ear piercing is a parent-child process. Please ensure that you and your daughter are prepared to dedicate time to cleaning.

 

Do you accept personal earrings for piercing?

I recommend using our clutch-back earrings and switching to your personal earrings once the healing process is complete.

I do not accept personal earrings.

 

I require proof of DTaP vaccinations for children under 7 years old.

Proof of DTaP vaccinations for children under 7 years of age is required. Please make sure you have access to this information. The name and date of birth must be noted in the documentation.

 

      Best Age for Ear Piercing?

I pierce babies as young as 2.5 months, the ideal age being 3 to 4 months. Your baby must be able to hold her head up.

Please consult your baby's pediatrician and ensure she has received her first DTaP vaccination.

DTaP vaccinations take 14 days to take effect. Please schedule your appointment accordingly.

 

One or Two-Parent or Guardian Attendance with Infants and Toddlers: 

I ask that if you have a cough or are just getting over a cold, you wear a mask during the marking and piercing process.

If your baby isn't used to seeing you wear a mask, I recommend wearing one for a few days before your appointment.

Wearing a mask will help her become accustomed to seeing you wear one and reduce the likelihood that she will try to pull it off during the appointment.

As we continue to navigate the evolving landscape of health and safety considerations, I want to assure you of my commitment to providing a safe environment for all our clients, regardless of age.

If siblings are attending the appointment, I request that if they have a runny nose or cough, they arrange for someone to accompany them and watch them in the waiting room.

 

Vaccination Requirements for Adults and Older Children:

 

• For Adults and Vaccinated Children: Fully vaccinated children and adults against COVID-19 and RSV have the option NOT to wear a mask.
• However, if you or your daughter has a cough or runny nose, please schedule when all are feeling better.
• If you are not vaccinated, you must wear a mask at all times during your visit.

 

What type of Payment do you accept?

I accept PayPal, APPLE PAY, SQUARE, and all major credit cards. 

All appointments are prepaid through our appointment page.

Clutch Back Earrings:

Your payment includes a 30-minute private appointment, the selection of one pair of clutch-back earrings, and the application of numbing spray (for toddlers, older children, and adults). I don't apply numbing spray to infants.

The appointment is NOT with 14kt Gold Screw Backs. Many parents confuse clutch backs with screw backs. Please view the difference below.  

Our screw-back collection is separate; backs cannot be used with the clutch-back earrings.

I don't accept Payment in the office unless you're upgrading to our 14kt gold screw-back collection.

 

 

14kt Gold Screw Back Earrings: 

Our 14kt gold screw backs are a pre-order item. If you missed the deadline to preorder, you may upgrade and pay the difference in price on the day of your scheduled appointment.

I highly recommend our 14kt gold screw backs for active infants and children.  The backs are securely tightened so they do not roll off, and the backs do not touch any part of the lobe.

Screw backs can be left in indefinitely. Many parents leave the earrings in for up to 3 to 5 years.

The collection of 14kt gold screw backs may be found on the website www.babypiercing.com under the heading "screw back-pre-order page.

 

Orders must be placed on or before midnight Sunday for pre-scheduled appointments Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. 

Please note: If you scheduled your appointment for Tuesday and didn't preorder the previous Sunday, your order will not be available until the following week.

Earrings are shipped to Babypiercing.com; they will not be shipped to your home.

Your payment includes a 30-minute private appointment with the application of numbing spray (suitable for toddlers, older children, and adults).

I DO NOT apply numbing spray to infants. 

 

All 14kt gold screw-back orders are final. There will be no refund. You may reschedule your appointment for a future date.

 

 

Piercing Room Safety Measures:

Our piercing room is sanitized using UV light and alcohol between appointments.

Both earrings and instruments are sanitized using alcohol and UV light.

Our office air conditioner is always running, and there is a 5-minute time between appointments to ensure thorough cleaning.

 

Appointment Arrival:

Please arrive on time for your appointment; arriving more than 5 minutes late will result in automatic cancellation, with no exceptions.

Arriving on time is imperative for appointments with older children (7 to 36 months), as tardiness may impact the allotted 30-minute appointment time.

Please ensure your baby has a dry diaper before arrival, as babies are often uncomfortable with a soiled diaper.

Parental Guidance During the Appointment:

Parents, we kindly ask that you remain calm during the appointment.

If you're feeling anxious, your child may pick up on your anxiety, which can make the experience more stressful for them.

Additionally, please avoid discussing your own previous bad experiences with piercings with your daughter, as this can add to the fear or anxiety your child may be feeling.

 

Hair Preparation:

If your daughter has long hair, please ensure it's tied tightly away from her face, with all wispy hair pinned back.

Many older children do not like their hair pulled back. Please explain that it will make it easier for me to mark without having to adjust wispy hairs.

(Marking is what takes me the longest.)

Arriving prepared with hair secured will prevent delays during the appointment.

Please avoid high-collar garments or clothing that requires pulling over the head.

For infants, DO NOT dress your daughter with STRAPS, RUFFLES, OR HIGH COLLARS AROUND THE NECK OR SHOULDER AREA.

A ONESIE UNDER HER CLOTHES WORKS THE BEST.

 

The Piercing Process:

1. Earrings: If you pre-ordered 14kt gold screw backs, your earrings will be available on your appointment day.

2. Consultation: I provide parents and children with a detailed explanation of the piercing process, addressing their questions.
3. Preparation: Before the piercing, I’ll clean and sterilize the earlobes and apply two layers of numbing spray. Numbing spray is only applied to toddlers, older children, and adults.
4. Piercing: After marking the lobes, the marking is approved. Using sterile equipment and techniques, we'll perform the piercing with precision and care.
5. Aftercare Instructions: After the piercing, I'll provide you with detailed aftercare instructions to promote proper healing and reduce the risk of complications.
6. After ear piercing, for infants, you may provide a bottle or nurse.

 

Appointment Cancellation Policy: Arriving early or on time allows a full 30-minute appointment slot.

1. If you arrive early, please text me at 415-730-9394. If I'm not with a parent, I will accommodate you early.
2. Please note that arriving more than 5 minutes late will result in the automatic cancellation of your appointment.

       A $75 cancellation fee will be deducted from your Payment. No exceptions.

 

 

Sports During the Healing Process:

Your daughter should consult with her sports coach to determine if removing the earrings during participation is required, as the healing process takes 10 weeks.

Removal and reinsertion of earrings during sports activities may result in complications and additional appointment fees for reinsertion.

The appointment fee to reinstall the earrings if they are removed for sports is $75.00.

 

Aftercare and Limitations:

After piercing, children may resume all normal activities, but swimming should be avoided for a week to prevent excessive moisture.

Parents are advised to check their child's earring back placement daily to ensure proper placement and to avoid over-cleaning the lobes during the healing process. 

Please ensure that the lobes are cleaned daily. If the backs are clutches, make sure they never touch the back of the earlobe, or that you can feel or see the earring's point. 

This applies only to our 14kt gold clutch-back collection.

 

After the healing process, please AVOID the following Earrings:

Parents are advised to avoid purchasing certain types of earrings, such as costume jewelry, sterling silver, and heavy hoops, during the first six months after piercing.

Do not purchase earrings with short posts, as some children may put the backs on too tightly, causing the backs to merge with the back of the lobe.

 

Additional Services:

We offer our clutch backs for purchase without piercing services, as well as replacement screw backs for lost earrings and clutch backs.
